To już 17. rocznica śmierci papieża św. Jana Pawła II. Co roku 2 kwietnia o godz. 21.37 członkowie nowotarskiego oddziału Związku Podhalan rozpalają na “Zadziale” symboliczną „Watrę Pamięci”.

Spotkanie o 21.00 rozpoczęła wspólna modlitwa. Odśpiewano Apel Jasnogórski. A w godzinie śmierci papieża uczczono jego pamięć minutą ciszy. Nie zabrakło wspólnego śpiewania m.in. “Barki”, ulubionej pieśni papieża.

W ten sposób nowotarżanie i nie tylko podkreślają, że pamiętają o św. Janie Pawle II, który jest patronem m.in. Związku Podhalan w Polsce.
